Frontline Bookstore

Frontline Distribution International, Inc. is Chicago’s premier Rastafari & Pan-African book publisher and book distributor. Our subsidiary, Frontline Books, is located at 5206 S. Harper Avenue and is one of only two black-owned bookshops in the entire city. We feature our own collection of publications as well as countless titles on all subjects including natural health, spirituality, history, metaphysics, black empowerment, hair care, and children’s books.

Frontline Books began in 1987 on the northside of Chicago as a wholesale company featuring Rastafari & Pan-African books, banners, etc. We were once located on 75th street, where we resided for 15 years. After a short hiatus, Frontline Books joined with Crystal Power (now known as Crystal Pyramid Metaphysics & Design) to open a Harper Court location in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. This current location is of great historical significance.  Frontline Books is the fourth Black Bookstore to be housed at this location in twenty-eight years.
