Bookstore, reading room and multi-media action center community owned and operated since 1991. The Center, also known as the Afrikan Amerikan Institute, is a volunteer Grassroots, community based think tank created more than 20 years ago. …It’s purpose is to insure broad based community analysis and response to issues and policies impacting the Black community, formation and implementation of short and long-term strategies for community action and development. It brings together theoreticians, practitioners and comsumers to plot the Black community’s future, self-determination.
