She is the daughter of Marcia Henson-Coakley and Curt Anderson and sister to Curtis Anderson, Damian Anderson and Christian Anderson. Early on, her high school art teacher admitted, “It is a sin to let talent like this go to waste!”  At Howard University Ambre was offered a scholarship to join the Fine Arts school.
While attending Howard, the Baltimore native balanced being a student on the Dean’s list with, working at the: Zennith Art Gallery, the National Endowment for the Arts and for two Maryland Congressmen on Capital Hill.
Moving to New York helped further shape Ambre’s creative edge. While producing artwork, she also established herself as an actress and model, landing major ads for various advertising companies encompassing her face on everything from Soft and Beautiful hair products at your local pharmacy, to Kelloggs Special K cereal boxes, magazines and book covers to a WE network billboard in Time Square. Her talents converged when she was booked as the talent for a Jeep campaign, portraying a painter. During the photo shoot the casting directors discovered Ambre’s exceptional ability as a true artist. Not only did they hire her for the print ad, but she was also chosen for their national television campaign as well. She has further unified her talents with her 2012 national cereal box campaign promoting confidence and her confidence for kids campaign with her new children’s book entitled: Qualities, that promotes self esteem.
