Fresh off a powerful visual tour documenting the Sundance award-winning film, “fishing Without Nets,” Sammy has acquired a discerning photographic eye which belies his relatively new arrival on the scene. Favoriting his Nikon D100 with a 35mm DX lens, he managed to capture the nuances of life in Kenya and continues to embellish his portfolio with snapshots of New York City. He gravitates towards candid life, While still taking the time to master the craft. Sammy pauses often to acknowledge his greatest influences, include cinematographer bill pope and photographer Dorothea Lange, whose depression footage he finds beautifully jarring. He hopes to one day capture her brillace in a single frame like she did. a creative process you can follow
