Overview
Lalibela restaurant was opened in 2012. We are based right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. We are extremely proud to bring our fine Ethiopian cuisine to New York City, and we are confident that you will love our tasty, wholesome dishes. Come and visit us and try them for yourself.
We have all of your traditional Ethiopian favorites, including:
- Injera a traditional Ethiopian bread served as a side dish
- Tibs sautéed meat or vegetables
- Kitfo ground beef marinated in mitmita
- Tej a delicious honey wine
Our restaurant is named after the Ethiopian town of Lalibela. It is renowned for its spectacular rock-cut churches. Like this iconic town, Ethiopian cuisine has a long, proud history borne from unique environments and traditions.
Just as the residents of Lalibela are proud of their link to history, we are proud of the traditions of Ethiopian cooking.
We combine the best traditional ingredients and techniques with contemporary knowhow. The result is our signature Lalibela dining experience that you will remember for a long time to come.
