Blackberry’s was established in NJ as a limited liability company in January of 2001, formally known as Mary’s Catering, specializing in off-premises catering since 1986. Merries Inc. was started by Mrs. Mary Withers (as Owner) and Shelly Withers (as General Manager) initially as an extra income. Blackberry’s LLC was founded on Merries Inc. goodwill in the residential, commercial, public and private business sectors. Both organizations have successful catered family, business and association affairs at homes museums, public buildings, churches and temples. Other functions include: weddings, anniversaries, Bar Mitzvahs, Bridal, Bachelor Parties, Communions, Confirmations and Wakes.

In additional to corporate functions including; Christmas parties, anniversaries, retirement parties, boards of directors’ affairs and parties hosted by the major of Plainfield, NJ. Due to the public’s widespread acceptance and demand for exceptional services, personalized attention, customized catering packages at affordable prices we have flourished into what is known today as Blackberry’s Catering and Family Restaurant.

Blackberry’s is newly opened Family Restaurant and Catering Facility at 500 Watchung Avenue & E.5th Street in downtown Plainfield, NJ. The facility contains two distinctive atmospheres, a family restaurant, which at full capacity accommodates up to 50 guests and the office and showroom for our off-premises catering service. Blackberry’s take-out & eat-in restaurant is a casual family style eatery with lunch and dinner prices ranging from $7.00 to $15.00 respectively; with a marketing emphasis toward multi-cultural recipes and southern hospitality.

Among the menu specialties are Caribbean, Spanish and traditional American foods with all the down home soul food favorites. The decor is artistically inspired by the Afro-American legacy with a culturally diverse clientele in mind.
