Overview
Miss Shelley’s Upward Prep is a private non-profit community based institution with early childhood and intermediate education programs (Pre-K to Kindergarten); youth development; and family support programs.
Founded on April 5, 1979, our vision is to provide low and middle-income working families, quality early childhood programs that feature affordable services targeted toward their needs. We service Infants, Toddlers, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and a before and after school program.
Miss Shelley’s Upward Prep provides extended day programming, nutritional meals, daily computer classes and developmentally appropriate curricula in an attractive and clean facility within a loving and disciplined family environment.
The program has achieved recognition from NYS Education Department as a non-public school, has had its program evaluated as “substantially equivalent in instruction” by the NYS Education Department for non-public schools, and obtained a day care center license from NYS Children and Family Services.

It is our mission to provide experiential and culturally sensitive programs, curricula, and activities that foster the growth and development of moral and intellectual self-sufficiency, within an environment that values diversity and peace.
